Glazed over manufacturing flaw top right corner,
some very tiny/minute rim chips/losses the largest
just above bottom right corrner, surface very near
perfect. Style: Floral Arts & crafts An exceedingly attractive hand made tile of
pansies in warm colours, fresh and bright,
lively and very clean. A unique tile in my experience for the relief
is created in clay, painted similarly to
traditional impasto decoration but it is white
rather than coloured slips. It was then fired,
the colours painted and the tile glazed and
glost fired. A rather laborious process creating
bespoke majolica having the intricacy of hand
painted patterns combined with relief in
brilliant colours unavailable using traditional
impasto decoration with coloured slips. Verso lightly stained otherwise clean,
embossed Flaxman, incised pattern number.
