Originated around 1850 it was still in production fifty years later indeed copies were made by at least two other companies. Most often found in blue and white, this colourway perhaps the second most popular and quite often (relatively) found. Printed overglaze hence difficult to find in such good condition, the pink was too difficult for Mintons to create underglaze at the time. The design is found in the Mintons catalogue and also seen in the Norfolk Iron Works catalogue sheet reproduced in William de Morgan Tiles by Jon Catleugh.
