A little roughness to the tip of the rim more
manufacturing flaw than wear, perfect surface. A highly stylised floral design probably a
poppy and another flower block printed. This
from the Léon-Victor Solon period at
Mintons, two years before he became art
director, to my mind their greatest era, and
with the sense of 'arts & crafts movement
style' and secessionist precursor to art
nouveau. A gorgeous shade of blue, I can't
really think of similar on a Mintons tile
perhaps with the exception of some of the
Persian prints. Versos clean but a little grubby, embossed
Mintons etc, printed pattern and registration
numbers. Style: Secessionist One very tiny rim chip top edge near left
corner, very minor surface marks. Very tiny chips bottom corners are apparently
manufacturing flaws, only the very slightest of
marks.
