Couple minute rim chips, couple very tiny
surface chips. Style:
Conventionalised Floral Victoriana An excellent embossed victoriana tile in high
relief with seven colours and most brilliant
glossy glazes. I can't recall seeing this design
before although the colours make this example
particularly attractive. High relief, crisp
moulding and a most unusual stippled background
with cobalt blue glaze. A quality tile most
often seen in fine public buildings such as inns
and theatres. Possibly pressed by Boote but
maybe glazed by another, Boote's pressing was
excellent and they pressed tiles for other
companies. Versos very clean, painted pattern
number. Couple minute rim chips, half a dozen minute
surface chips.
