A great design, difficult to categorise, arts
& crafts, art nouveau, opinions will surely
differ, aesthetic even, the bottom half in the
japanesque manner of petals on cracked ice.
Lovely, lively movement in the stems, nice
bright flowers. Made around 1903 identifiable by
the grip pattern, printed in warm brown and
tinted with just one colour.
What's very strange is that it is a 6" x 6"
cut in half, and cut in half for the original
installation for we bought several of them.
Skillfull cutting, not immediately apparent it
is only when you see it side on that you really
notice. Makes for an attractive tile, better I
may say than as 6" x 6".
