A most unusual floral tile, printed in the style of a 'cloisonné' majolica tile with raised outline as those seen by Pilkington and Mintons of similar date. This style of design also seen coloured in examples designed by Lewis Day for Pilkington is most eye-catching printed in dark brown white body and with a crystal clear glaze.

Verso very clean, embossed L.T. and England.

Very small chip and few tiny chips bottom edge, surface is near perfect and the glaze brilliant without crazing.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
