A pretty tile in a good shade of blue
featuring four different alternating sprigs of
berries and flowers. A naturally light design in
the japanese taste and an early tile predating
the Patent Tile Works and also predating
Dresser's much vaunted visit to Japan in 1876-7.
Japan opened its borders to foreigners in 1854
and much impact was made by japanese wares
exhibited at the 1862 London Exhibition.
