One tiny and a few minute rim chips, small flake
lost at the base of the leaf upper left, very tiny
bruise right bud, very clean and bright. Style: Floral A great design with a big bold flower and
three buds and is quite typical of late
Victorian floral design as seen on transfer
printed and majolica tiles but not often
stencilled. Lea & Boulton were probably the third
largest maker of tiles by this process, after
Wedgwood and Marsden, Lea & Boulton's
barbotime stencil tiles tend to be bigger,
bolder designs and more often used pink, a
difficult colour rarely used by Wedgwood. Verso very clean, embossed L. T..
