One of, if not the best, pictorial series from Wedgwood illustrating fairies from the Shakespeare play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. A somewhat controversial play, criticised by many groups who saw images of themselves described by Shakespeare in the commuity of elves and fairies in which the play is set*. This unusual colour combination of blue print on an olive body adds to fantastic and dreamlike quality of the artwork in keeping with the original play. |

One small, one very small and one tiny chips, a very small patch of rubbing around the bottom left corner. Light surface scratches only visible when tilted to the light. Very clean with high brilliance.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
